As with any type of assessment, mid-year exams may be a source of anxiety for your child. However, they are also an opportunity for your child to refocus if their grades during the first half of the year do not fully reflect their capabilities. Here are Alloprof’s most helpful resources for preparing for mid-year exams.
One way to provide your child with the tools they need to prepare for mid-year exams is by sharing this video (link in French) with them. It includes a wealth of advice and essential tips that will help them succeed. You can also take some time to go over Alloprof’s study tips with your child. Here are just a few of the articles on our website specifically aimed at helping students prepare for exams:
If you have ever visited Alloprof’s student site, you likely know that it is packed with valuable resources designed to help kids with their homework. These resources can also be extremely beneficial when students are preparing for mid-year exams. Before an exam, depending on the subject and concepts in question, your child can do the following:
Watch concept videos to get a brief summary of key concepts.
Go over relevant concept sheets to deepen their understanding of the subject. These pages feature clear, accessible explanations and illustrated examples.
On top of all that, your child can practise concepts and test their knowledge with our games and interactive exercises.
Organized by grade and school subject, our review guides feature direct links to our most useful resources for studying certain concepts. The guides are based on Quebec’s education program and the recommendations of the Ministère de l’Éducation.
There is no need to worry if you are occasionally stumped by your child’s questions. This is perfectly normal—and Alloprof is here to help! We offer two services dedicated to answering students’ academic questions:
The Help Zone: This forum is available seven days a week. Your child can post questions about the subject they are studying and receive explanations from their peers. All answers are verified and validated by the Alloprof team.
Ask a teacher: Our teachers are available to answer your child’s questions by text, chat, or phone from Monday to Thursday, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., and on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
